Membership Covenant

By the grace of God I have been led to repent of my sin and believe upon Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. I have confessed my faith and have been baptized by immersion in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Now, therefore, in the presence of God and by His grace, and understanding Flint Reformed Baptist Church’s doctrinal and confessional statements, strategies and structure, I joyfully and solemnly enter into a covenant with the members of Flint Reformed Baptist Church. I engage to walk together in Christian love through the power of the Holy Spirit to fulfill the purposes of the local church to the glory of God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Unity of Our Fellowship

I resolve to not forsake the assembling of the fellowship together unless hindered by the providential work of God, but faithfully attend the church's meetings for worship, prayer, study, fellowship, and consistently pursue my own biblical reformation.

I resolve to faithfully participate in the ordinances of the church – the Lord’s Supper and believer’s baptism by immersion – and to pursue biblical doctrine for the purpose of God-honoring worship, faith, and service.

I will choose to submit to the church's discipline upon my life and will lovingly assume my responsibility to participate in the discipline of other members, as taught in Scripture.

My Responsibility to Our Fellowship

I resolve to contribute cheerfully and regularly to this church for its general ministry, the relief of the poor, the cause of reformation and revival, and the spread of the Gospel throughout all nations.

Within the framework of Flint Reformed, I resolve to consistently use my spiritual gifts for the eternal benefit of the redeemed and to the conversion of the unregenerate.

My Place within Our Fellowship

In faith, believing the providence of God has directed me to this fellowship, and that the pursuit of peace with fellow believers and personal holiness accompany true faith in Christ, I resolve to be slow to take offense, always eager to seek the reconciliation with my fellow believers that Christ commands, and will work to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bonds of peace.

I resolve to watch over one another in brotherly love; to remember one another in prayer; to aid one another in sickness and distress; and to cultivate Christian sympathy in feeling and courtesy in speech.

I resolve to practice personal and family worship, to train my children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord, and to pray for and work unto the conversion of my family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, and acquaintances.

I will strive by God's grace and power to live as Christ in the world. Denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, I will seek to fulfill my calling as a saint to lead a holy life and to be salt and light like Christ within my realm of influence.
